Sire Of The Year 2018 - Strathbogie 'A Kind Of Magic'

Congratulations to James C Innes of Aberdeenshire for breeding the 2018 Suffolk Sheep Society Sire of The Year. Now owned by Manuel Diaz Alvarez of Spain (Siero flock), this Muirton One Direction sired champion is out of a Strathisla dam.

A Kind of Magic's top 3 sons averaged 21,433gns, with two sold at Stirling, Limestone Aston Martin (the 40,000gns top priced lamb in 2018), and the 22,000gns, Stratbogie Straivarius. The third son, Strathbogie Supershot, got 2,300gns at the National Sale in Shrewsbury.

With an average of 21,000gns, Close runner up was the Priestly bred Limestone Legacy and owned by R H Black of Fife ( Collessie flock) was a close runner up. Itself a Strathbogie sired lamb out of the Forkins dam (AOR:14:01201). His top priced three sons in 2018 sold for 30,000gns and 24,000gns, both at Stirling, and 9,000gns at Shrewsbury averaging 21,000gns.
