SRUC-BioSS CT Scanning Service

By Suffolk Sheep Society 11th March, 2014

Continued support from Quality Meat Scotland (QMS)

Dear All,

QMS have kindly agreed to continue to subsidise the SRUC-BioSS CT scanning service for recorded pedigree sheep breeders in 2014 with a maximum sum of £10,000 being made available, as for the last few years.  With this in mind QMS are keen to subsidise as many breeders / lambs as possible and so are proposing to offer 50% of the per lamb CT scanning cost for Scottish lambs scanned in Edinburgh.  This amounts to £32.50 per lamb.   To be eligible for the subsidy the following requirements should be met:

·         minimum of 5 and maximum of 15 lambs per flock

·         male lambs only are subsidised

·         lambs should be 20-24 weeks old

·         lambs should be back-fat scanned before they come for CT scanning

I look forward to hearing from as many of you as possible to book lambs in for CT or to discuss what the benefits are.

Many thanks

Kirsty
