The 12th annual 3 Nations proved to be one of the most successful to date with an overall sale average of £3996.66 for 63 sold and a 99% clearance this reflecting the quality of the stock and genetics on offer!
Setting trade alight at 30,000gns and setting a new breed record for a ewe lamb was lot 61 from Howgillfoot, sired by the homebred Commander and her dam a 25,000gns Frongoy Rocket Daughter the star attraction sold to A Allman Devon having stood second in the pre-sale show.
Her pen mate sired by 28,000gns Castleisle Blackadder and again from a homebred Rocket mother was again much sought after and attracted the second highest price of 22,000gns and headed to the same buyer as the previous lot!
Next best in the price list was the first from Strathbogie , a 30,000gns Rempstone Gambler Daughter and from a female line who has produced 2 highland show champions for Strathbogie this gimmer sold carrying twins to 40,000gns Royal Mint was secured by Mark Priestley for the Limestone Flock NI
Following her was the Overall Champion & winner of the Ewe lamb section from the Rhaeadr Flock in Wales this one sired by Carony Cha Ching is a full sister to last year’s Lanark Champion Northern Star and heads to Aberdeenshire with Stuart Barclay Harestone for 10,000gns
Also at this level was the First prize Gimmer and Reserve Overall Champion from the Boden family @ Stockport , bred of the 52,000gns Lanark sale topper Lakeview 1 up this gimmer coming from the same family as Bodens 60,000gns Lanark sale Golden moments sold for 10,000gns to Cannonhall Farms
The Bodens also secured 7000gns for another 1 up daughter this one carrying 2 to Howgillfoot Rocky 15,000gns was bought by Oliver Watson
Two gimmer then traded @ 6000gns each first from Stuart Lathangies Pyeston flock a Sportsmans Masterplan daughter from the same female line as 38,000gns Phenoix sold to Frongoy Suffolks , who in turn balanced the Books selling their first for the same sum of 6000gns to Messers Wason Fife for their money they got a Cairness Milton daughter carrying a single to Bridgeview Banker
