Lanark welcomed back the Suffolk Supremes for their Second Sale of In-Lamb Females and Empty Ewe Lambs with 70 heads on offer and an excellent clearance of sold to average £750.49 and selling to a top of 1,900gns with bidding coming from both the live ring and online via Marteye.
Top price of 1,900gns was achieved for Messrs Gibb, Cairnton for their Bridgeview Belvenie sired Ewe Lamb who is out of a Millhouse Remarkable homebred daughter. She now heads home with Messrs Barkley, Blackbrae flock after a phone bid frenzy.
Closing following her, was the Gimmer from Messrs Scott, Strathview which realised 1,800gns. A daughter of Bridgeview Bill, she sold to Messrs Robetson, Mid Linthills, Lochwinnoch carrying twins to Forkins Faultless.
1,600gns was realised twice. Firstly for a Gimmer from Messrs Christie, Westcarse, a daughter of Muirton Double Diamond, she sold carrying a single to the retained sire, Westcarse Immaculate and heads north to Messrs Henderson, North Inchmichael at Perth.
Messrs Gibb, Cairton was back in the headlines with his second ewe lamb entry at 1,600gns. This time sired by Frongoy Firepower, and out of a Cairness Agent sired homebred dam.
A worth while trip for Messrs Douglas, Cairness with his consignment topping at 1,200gns for a Cairness McCoy sired Gimmer carrying Twins by the Cairton Ninety Nine. She also headed home with Messrs Robertson.
Topping the Aged Ewes at 1,100gns was Messrs Craft, Lakeview with a 2016-born Solwaybank sired Ewe carrying a single to Ballynacannon Playboy. She herself is a previous RHASS Breed Champion and sold online heading across to Northern Ireland to Messrs Garland, Aghafad flock.
Also selling for 1,100gns was a Gimmer from Messrs Douglas, Cairness. Sired by Cairness Mike Tyson, she sold due twins to Cairnton Ninety-Nine. She heads to Ayrshire with Messrs Duckworth, Floors Farming.
