Focus on Maternal Traits at Ireland's National Ploughing Championship

By Suffolk Sheep Society 18th September, 2017

On the Suffolk Sheep Society stand at this year's National Ploughing Championship in Tullamore, we will feature Suffolk x Cheviot Ewes and three pens of Suffolk Cross Ewe Lambs comprising of Suffolk X Mule, Suffolk X Cheviot and 3/4 Suffolk. We will also have a Suffolk Stock Ram on view.

The Suffolk Sheep is a dual purpose breed, excelling in Terminal and Maternal traits. Suffolks finish quickly and efficiently and get lambs to factory or butchers weights sooner than any other breed.

The Suffolk Cross Ewe has always been recognised as a top class mother and will cross with any other breed to produce a lamb for ever specification required by todays discerning customers. She is structurally sound, with excellent feet and a prolific milker, highly resistant to mastitis and long lasting. Please call and visit our stand at 2017 National Ploughing Championships

Block 1 Row 15 Stand 323

Officers and members of the South of Ireland Branch of the Suffolk Sheep society will be on hand during the three days; any information regarding the breed; becoming a member or enquiry re sales dates will be freely available.
