SHEARLING AVERAGES UP AT KELSO

By Suffolk Sheep Society 12th September, 2017

In the shearling ring, E A & L Jackson was the top performer in Ring 8, clearing 30 sheep at an average of nearly 1,080 with a top price of 4,000. Overall, the MV registered shearlings did really well this year with averages well up on 2016 (an increase of 158 from 655 in 2016 to 813). What is also interesting with the MV accredited Shearlings is that last year they were below the overall average price, but this year increased their average by quite a margin to come in well ahead of the overall average (733). The non-accredited (Ring 14) also did well, they increased their average while selling more sheep.
