The Suffolk Sheep Society sponsored a guess the weight competition as part of their stand at NSA Welsh Sheep on Tuesday 21st May 2013. Over 100 people estimated the combined weight of the four sheep on the stand. The Suffolk ram weighed 134kg, commercial ewe 61kg and two Suffolk cross lambs 26kg & 27kg giving a total combined weight of 248kg.

Mr Ray Davis, Glan-yr-afon guessed the weight correctly and received a £50 voucher towards the purchase price of a Suffolk ram produced by a Suffolk member. Mr Davis was delighted with winning the competition and it is his intention to purchase a Suffolk ram at the 2nd Builth sale.

Mr Wyn Price, Penbryn, Llandovery who guessed 250kg came second and receives a voucher of £25.
