Irish Trip, Sheep Dressing & Tup Tour
Twenty three members of the North East Scotland Club traveled to Northern Ireland for a long weekend, where we visited the Flocks of Gary Beacom, William & Stephanie Tait, Campbell Watson, Patrick Donelly, Mark Priestley, William Montgomery and Anthony Patton.
We saw a lot of good sheep on our travels and the hospitality was second to none and were delighted to be able to join the members at their Charity BBQ.
Hope it won’t be too long before we can return to Northern Ireland.
Several members attended a Sheep Dressing ‘workshop’ held by Gordon Troup of Whitestone Suffolk’s. A demonstration was given by Ronnie Wilkie and Jimmy Young before everyone got a chance to try out their own skills. We hope that the younger members in attendance were able to pick up some of the secrets to dressing and showing.
For our annual Tup Tour this year, we were joined by members of the Gloucester and Adjacent Counties Club. We began our tour with Messrs Machray, Bilboa, before moving onto Messrs Proctor, Conveth. Then to Robbie Wilson, Strathisla, John Gibb, Cairnton and finally Messrs Duncan of the Pennan Flock.
We were once again shown an excellent display of tups and we wish them all the best at the Shrewsbury and Stirling sales.
As usual the day was rounded off with our BBQ and thankfully the sun was shining all day!
